The more powerful the hardware has become the more we are encountering problems with heat and the discipation thereof. So when i read the following news i was pretty hyped about it, because innovation in the field of cooling like water- or phaseshift-cooling often is only coming at a premium price and with enthusiast hardware. Heatpipes and bigger-sized heatspreaders are becoming somewhat more mainstream nowadays as alot of people rather want to have silent cooling. What MSI has published now looks like a dream come true with its Sterling-Engine solution. It may not be the most efficient for the hottest hardware, but it surely will help reduce costs and noise in alot of places. Hooray for cool innovations like that, even if it still has to be seen, if it's a reliable and cost-effective solution. |
